The South African Institute of Professional Accountants is a professional association of accountants based in South Africa. As of 2019, the institute claims to have more than 10,000 members. SAIPA represents qualified Professional Accountants in practice, commerce and industry, academia and the public sector.

Can I do SAIPA without a degree?

No person will be allowed to sit for the Professional Evaluation Examination without completing a B. Tech / Bcom degree. SAIPA is currently in the process of accrediting university degrees that are in line with our curriculum.

The SAIPA Professional Accountant in Practice qualification is registered a level eight on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF). In terms of legislation, SAIPA members are recognised as Commissioners of Oaths. SAIPA has approximately 1500 trainee accountant members.
