The University of Mpumalanga (UMP) does not list a nursing programme, so it publishes no nursing entry requirements. Its published undergraduate programme list has no nursing qualification, and its three faculties (Agriculture and Natural Sciences; Education; Economics, Development and Business Sciences) do not include health sciences. If you searched for Mpumalanga university nursing requirements, the route is through another institution.
SANC’s February 2026 list of universities accredited for the new nursing programmes also does not include UMP. Nursing education is lawful only at SANC-accredited institutions, so use that list before you apply anywhere.

Subjects, APS and Qualification Requirements
As a guide to what degree programmes ask, the University of Pretoria’s 2027 admission table for its Bachelor of Nursing Science lists English 4, Mathematics 4, Life Sciences 4 (not Physical Sciences) and a minimum APS of 28. The UP closing date for the 2027 intake was 30 June 2026, so that cycle has closed.
Subject rules differ by institution, so use the programme you actually apply for as the guide, not this example.
Documents and Application Requirements
UMP has no nursing application to make. If you want UMP for another qualification, the university’s online applications page is the place to apply. For nursing, apply through the institution that offers it and follow its own list of documents.
Once you begin a nursing programme, section 32 of the Nursing Act requires you to apply to SANC for registration as a learner nurse.
Selection, Intake and Eligibility Considerations
Intakes are small. SANC’s February 2026 list shows the Mpumalanga College of Nursing with 50 places and one intake a year for its Diploma in Nursing, and the University of Pretoria admits 50 first-year Bachelor of Nursing students annually. Meeting a minimum therefore does not guarantee a place.
Check the college’s current intake dates and criteria directly, and check any institution on the SANC list of accredited nursing education institutions before you pay an application fee.
