TUT does not list an LLB in its 2027 first-year programmes. Its law qualifications are the Diploma in Law and the Diploma in Legal Support. For the NSC route, the Diploma in Law needs a bachelor’s or diploma endorsement, English at level 4 and an APS of at least 20, excluding Life Orientation.

Academic and Minimum Admission Requirements
TUT does not count Life Orientation, or any subject in which you achieved level 1, in your Admission Point Score (APS).
Nationally, a diploma needs at least four subjects at performance level 3. The general NSC rule at TUT is a minimum of six subjects, including English with a minimum score of 3. For the law diplomas TUT sets English at level 4 and the APS at 20.
The programmes TUT describes lead to paralegal-type careers, such as work in law firms, Legal Aid, the Master’s office and the Deeds Office. If you want to practise as an attorney or advocate, ask the Legal Practice Council what qualification it requires before you choose a diploma.
Subjects, APS and Qualification Requirements
On the NSC route TUT lists English and, for Legal Support, another language. It names no Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy requirement for the NSC route. Faculties in Humanities, Management Sciences and Economics and Finance require any one of Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy as a general rule, so confirm with TUT how this applies to your application.
If you studied the National Certificate (Vocational), the Diploma in Law asks for 50% in English, 50% in Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy, and 50% in each of three other vocational subjects.
Documents and Application Requirements
The 2027 application fee is R240. It is compulsory for all first-time applicants, payable once and non-refundable. You pay it at ABSA with your identity number as the reference.

An alternative or international qualification needs a SAQA or CHE certificate of equivalence. TUT cannot obtain it for you, so start your application while the certificate is being processed.
Selection, Intake and Eligibility Considerations
You may apply on Grade 11 or mid-year Grade 12 results and may get provisional admission pending your final Grade 12 results. A programme can close at any time once it is full, and TUT does not admit applicants who have not been evaluated. All prospectus information is subject to change.
