Both say “Printed January 2026” and that TUT can change the information without notice.

Entry Requirements at a Glance

Academic and Minimum Admission Requirements
The General Information brochure states the baseline: an NSC or equivalent with a minimum of six subjects. Bachelor’s degrees need at least four subjects at performance level 4, and diplomas at least four subjects at level 3. Each programme then lists its own subjects and levels. The brochure also covers NC(V) and Nated routes, which the shorter table does not.
TUT says a programme can close when it is full, even before its deadline, and that acceptance depends on capacity.
Subjects, APS and Qualification Requirements
TUT calculates the APS without Life Orientation and without any subject at achievement level 1. Read the compulsory subjects entry for your programme. Faculties differ: Science, Engineering and the Built Environment, and ICT require Mathematics, Management Sciences, Economics and Finance, and Humanities accept either Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy, and Arts and Design treats Mathematical Literacy as optional. Where an entry lists Mathematics or Technical Mathematics only, Mathematical Literacy does not meet it.
The PDFs give requirements as achievement levels (for example English level 4), not percentages. Use the conversion table in the brochure itself to turn a level into a percentage.
Documents and Application Requirements
The brochure lists the documents to submit:
- Proof of payment of the R240 application fee, deposited to ABSA with your ID number as the reference
- A certified copy of your ID document or card
- A certified copy of your NSC, or your final Grade 11 results if you are in Grade 12 now
- A SAQA or CHE certificate of equivalence for foreign qualifications
- Your own email address, not anyone else’s
Selection, Intake and Eligibility Considerations
Open the PDFs from tut.ac.za through the Study at TUT page. The links there currently point to a devwww.tut.ac.za address for some files, and the same files also open under www.tut.ac.za. Prefer TUT’s own files to copies on other sites, which may be older editions.
Check the cover for the year before you rely on a figure. The 2027 editions say “Printed January 2026”.
