What is a bachelors pass?
A Bachelor’s Pass is what you get on your Matric Certificate after achieving high grades, and a degree is a tertiary qualification you can apply for with a Bachelor’s Pass.
What qualifies as a bachelor’s pass in Matric?
If you are aiming for a bachelor’s pass, you need to get at least: 40% for your Home Language. 50% for four other High Credit subjects, excluding Life Orientation. 30% for two other subjects.

How do you get a bachelor’s pass?
To achieve a bachelor’s pass, you must:
- Pass 6 of the 7 subjects offered;
- Of which four Subjects must be at least a 50% (level 4) achievement;
- Including Home Language 40% Compulsory Pass /excluding Life Orientation;
- 30% Pass in the Language of Learning and Teaching (LOLT);
