Engineering, science and health programmes require Mathematics or Technical Mathematics rather than Mathematical Literacy. Business and services programmes are considerably more likely to accept Mathematical Literacy.

Programmes run across TUT campuses including Pretoria, Arcadia, Soshanguve, GaRankuwa, eMalahleni, Polokwane and Mbombela, as well as distance and online delivery. The same programme is not offered at every campus.
