Sacap Bursary Requirements

The South African Council for the Architectural Profession (SACAP) bursary supports students in architecture at accredited public institutions in South Africa who meet specific eligibility and documentation requirements[1][3].

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be a South African citizen[1].
  • You must have completed Matric (National Senior Certificate)[1][3].
  • You must be studying towards an Architecture qualification and be entering your 2nd year or later (up to Honours) in 2025[1][3].
  • You must be registered at an accredited Architectural Learning Site at a public institution in South Africa. Applications from private institutions are not accepted[3].
  • If you do not have a disability: your total household income must be NOT more than R350,000 per annum[1][3].
  • If you do have a disability: your total household income must be NOT more than R600,000 per annum. You must submit a medical note confirming your disability[1][3].
  • Preference is given to candidates from designated groups[1][3].

Required Documents:

  • Certified copy of your South African ID document[1][3].
  • Certified copy of your Matric (National Senior Certificate)[1][3].
  • Certified copy of your most recent academic results and full academic record[1][3].
  • One-page motivational letter explaining why you are applying for the bursary[1][3].
  • Proof of household income (latest 3 months payslips if employed, or affidavit if unemployed)[1][3].
  • Three months of recent bank statements for your parents, guardians, or yourself[1][3].
  • Medical note stating type of disability, if applicable[1][3].

  • Closing date is 29 November 2024, 16:00. Late applications will not be considered[1][3].
  • SACAP reserves the right not to award bursaries. Only successful applicants will be contacted within 2 months after the closing date[3].
