To qualify for the Pyrotec Bursary, applicants must meet the following criteria:[1][3][5][7]
- Be a South African citizen[1][3][5][7]
- Be an AA/EE (Affirmative Action/Employment Equity) candidate[1][3][5][7]
- Be studying or intending to study towards a qualification in one of the specified fields supported by Pyrotec[1][3][5][7]
- Be registered or have been accepted to study at a recognised South African university[3][5][7]
- Demonstrate a genuine interest in their chosen field[4][5][7]
- Preference is given to first-year students with a minimum overall average of 70%[2][5][7]
Applications require submission of the following supporting documents in clear, digital format:[2][3][5][7]
- Certified copy of ID document[2][3][5][7]
- Certified copy of Matric certificate or highest level of education[2][3][5][7]
- Proof of university registration or acceptance (on institution letterhead)[2][3][5][7]
- One-page motivational letter explaining why you should be awarded the bursary[2][3][5][7]
- Proof of address (required if applying for a transport allowance)[2][3][5][7]
- Estimates or invoices for tuition, textbooks, accommodation, transport (as applicable)[2][3][5][7]
Applications must be completed online via the Pyrotec website, and all required documents must be uploaded as directed. Incomplete or late applications will not be considered. Only successful applicants will be notified; if you do not receive a response by the stated notification date, consider your application unsuccessful[4][5].
