Diploma In Law At Tut Requirements

The Diploma in Law at Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) is offered at the Soshanguve South and Mbombela campuses. To be eligible, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • National Senior Certificate (NSC): A National Senior Certificate with a diploma endorsement or an equivalent qualification is required, including an achievement level of at least Level 4 (50–59%) for English as home language or first additional language[3].
  • APS: A minimum admission point score (APS) of 20 (excluding Life Orientation)[1].
  • Application Deadline: The usual closing date for applications is 31 July each year[1].

Additional details:

  • Applicants with a National Certificate (Vocational) at NQF Level 4 must also have a diploma endorsement, with at least 50% for English (home or first additional language) and 40% for Mathematical Literacy or Mathematics. Life Orientation is excluded from APS calculation. For these applicants, a minimum APS of 20 is still required[3].
  • Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is possible for applicants who do not meet traditional requirements. Such cases are reviewed individually by the university’s Senate[2].
