Egypt Visa Requirements

Most travelers to Egypt require a visa, which can be obtained online as an e-visa, on arrival at airports, or through an Egyptian embassy or consulate, depending on nationality and travel purpose[4].

Egypt E-Visa Specifics:

  • E-visas are available as single-entry and multiple-entry options. Applications are submitted online, and payment is made with debit/credit cards or PayPal[2][3][4].
  • You must apply at least a week before travel and print the e-visa after receiving approval by email[2][4].
  • The e-visa is only available for tourism or short visits and only to citizens of eligible countries[4][7].

Special Cases and Requirements:

  • If your passport is due to expire during or soon after your trip, renew it before applying. Your application is invalid if your passport does not meet the validity requirement[3].
  • Certain travelers must apply through a consulate if ineligible for the e-visa or for non-tourist purposes[1][4].
