The Advanced Diploma in Financial Management is not currently offered at UNISA (University of South Africa). The qualifications currently available in the closest related fields at UNISA are the Bachelor of Commerce in Financial Management and the Advanced Diploma in Accounting Sciences (Financial Accounting stream).[3][5]
For the Bachelor of Commerce in Financial Management (Qualification code 98306), the admission requirements are:
- National Senior Certificate (NSC) with degree endorsement and at least 50% in the language of instruction and 50% in Mathematics, or
- Senior Certificate (SC) with matriculation exemption (or qualify for exemption from the Matriculation Board), at least a D symbol on HG or C symbol on SG in the language of instruction, and at least a D symbol on HG or C symbol on SG in Mathematics, or
- Any completed Higher Certificate offered in the College of Economic and Management Sciences, or
- Any Diploma obtained in the College of Economic and Management Sciences.
Applicants who do not meet the above requirements should apply for a lower NQF level qualification.[3]
For the Advanced Diploma in Accounting Sciences (Financial Accounting stream) (Qualification code 98230 – FAC), the admission requirements are:
- An appropriate Diploma in Accounting Sciences or its equivalent (with modules on NQF level 6 in Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, Auditing, and Taxation), or
- An appropriate Bachelor’s degree in Accounting Sciences or its equivalent (with modules on NQF level 6 in the relevant fields), or
- Any Bachelor’s degree and a completed Advanced Certificate in Accounting Sciences or its equivalent.
An APS/AS score of 50 is required. Note that application fees apply and admission is subject to space availability.[5]
If you are specifically interested in the “Advanced Diploma in Financial Management,” other South African institutions such as the University of Johannesburg offer such programmes, but not UNISA at present.[1]
